FOUNDER'S STORY
Hi, I'm Urmi. Art, for me, was never just a passion — it was redemption. It gave me a voice when words fell short, a way to reclaim space in a world that often didn’t reflect people beyond stereotypes. My academic path led me through a Bachelors and Masters in International Relations, but my personal journey kept circling back to fashion as a form of storytelling and self-discovery.
I realized moving away from hiding fabrics under embellishment can let the textiles speak for themselves — celebrating their raw, natural beauty. What began as redemption has since become creation: a way of building something meaningful, lasting, and true to me and my roots.

We embody the less applauded parts of being a woman, and celebrate it vibrantly. We aim to honour our natural textiles, and the hands that weave their stories .
In a world where fashion and beauty capitalize on insecurities, Kali Billi exists to do the opposite: to remind women that beauty is not manufactured — it already exists within you.
